Let’s have a nice warm welcome for our newest contributor here at evilgeeks.com, Flaccid Snake.

You’d be a fool not to read the following review.

This is the first collection of the (2010) comic book series, American Vampire. I’m not typically a huge vampire fan, (True Blood was good until maybe the third season and was pretty much dog shit after that) but this story interested me because it takes place in a Western setting and features two great writers. This was Stephen King’s first real foray into comics.

Checking In On The Status Of Four Live Action Movie Adaptations

We know over the last 10 years or so Hollywood has really amped up their production of reboots and other older famous franchises that hadn’t yet been made into movies. I thought we’d take take a look at 4 different properties that have been announced but are currently languishing in production hell.

I’m a big Robotech fan, specifically the Macross Saga (the first 36 episodes of the American series). To briefly sum it up America took 3 different Japanese TV shows and cut them up and reedited them to make 3 distinct stories across different generations of an Earth conflict. The Macross Saga involves an alien craft that lands on Earth and lies dormant for decades until a different alien race finally tracks it down and wages war on our planet. It’s a surprisingly touching cartoon for the 80’s (which clearly means its Japanese) that shows the horrors and real life effects of war and love during a time of conflict. Plus really, really cool human piloted planes that transform into robots.

Evil Book Report – House of Comarré

Over the last couple years I have been intermittently reading this series, and last month I finished the fifth and final book of the collection. The series deals with a group of supernaturals familiar to all of us. It’s got vampires, shapeshifters, ghosts, and even ninja-like warriors. Some of my favorite characters in the novels are faeries. It was a fun read that I am happy to bring you my review of.

Let Me Put My Suggestions In You: We Need More Buffy The Vampire Slayers

Warning folks, Lilith is back today with a rant-filled post for you, something I have been thinking about a lot lately. There has been an upswing in posts about feminism out there, and you all know that I am a fan of a strong female character. So rewatching Buffy The Vampire Slayer for TV From The Crypts has led me to an epic conclusion: we need more Buffys. Buffy Summers is one of the most ass-kicking, strong female characters out there that shames many of our present girly lead roles. Continue on for all my personal beliefs as to why I wish there were more Buffy The Vampire Slayers out there.

A Tale of Two Presidents- Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

You might be thinking this post is stemming from my obsession with creatures and my love of the nosferatu, but it is actually meant to be a more reflective piece. One where I can compare a book with it’s film counterpart and all the monsters that happen to be inside of them. Yes, two years ago the movie Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter hit the box office, and I did see it in theaters. It was based on the novel by Seth Grahame-Smith, but I had not read it at the time of seeing the movie. I did get a chance to read the novel in the last year, and now I can bring you my comparison of the two.
