The Weekly Skitter Report: Brazil

HELLLLLLOOOOOO STONEHENGE!!!!  Oops, sorry, wrong show.  HELLLLOOOOOO EVIL GEEKS!  That’s more like it.  Well, it’s been kind of a slow season for Falling Skies this year; the 2nd Mass arrived in Charleston and things kind of hit a wall narrative-wise.  To me it seemed like the story wasn’t moving at brisk pace as it has in the past.  However, even though the 2nd Mass wasn’t on the road fighting for a place of their own, there was still the sense that something bigger was coming.  Surely they wouldn’t let the audience down, would they?  Well… they wouldn’t!  Lot’s of big happenings went down in this finale, so let’s get recapping, shall we?!?!

The Weekly Skitter Report: Journey to Xilbalba

Fear not, Evil Geeks, for the heavens hold no terrors horrifying enough to stay Brotherhood’s hand from wielding the literary sword that is The Weekly Skitter Report!  Last week I was griping about the overall pace of this season.  To me it seemed like there was a whole lot of place setting going on, with zero payoff story wise.  Charleston seemed to be to the writing staff, what Waterloo was to Napoleon.  The plot was going nowhere fast, so with only two episodes left to go in season 3, I was keeping my fingers crossed in hopes of finally getting some sweet story action.  Would the humans and the Volm finally strike at the heart of the Espheni war machine? Would Journey to Xibalba be the episode that rockets the story forward?  Could I actually be the only person to keep referring to this episode as “Journey to Sebulba?”  So many questions need answering before this season wraps up!

The Weekly Skitter Report: The Pickett Line

Good morning Evil Geekites!  C-Mart’s really dropping the ball this week on getting out the Falling Skies review, but wait no longer because the Weekly Skitter Report is finally upon us!  When we last left former President Tom Mason, he was about to exclaim “Aw f%#%!” after being surrounded then subsequently captured by an Espheni patrol.  Tom also racked up some bonus parenting points when he sent his sons out alone to their next rendezvous point while he went back to help out the hillbillies who previously robbed them.  How’d that play work out for you, Tommy boy?

The Weekly Skitter Report: The Pickett Line

Great... now the Bonanza theme song is going to be stuck in my head.

Great… now the Bonanza theme song is going to be stuck in my head.

Greeting Evil Geeks and welcome to another edition of The Weekly Skitter Report!  We finally got resolution last week on one of the season’s longest running wild cards: Hal’s eye worm.  With Hal being caught and the alien probe being removed, everyone thought the Espheni spy had finally been taken care of.  Of course that would be too easy though and this week showed us that the double agent is still in operation.  Last week, the Masons set out on their own in search of answers on what happened to Anne and Alexis, so we get to see how far they get in that quest this week.  Also, another one of the big question marks in season 3 got answered in this episode: what exactly the hell happened to Cochise, the Volm ambassador last seen being herded into President Hathaway’s plane as the Espheni were about to attack?  He doesn’t call, he doesn’t write, and when he finally does show up, he has a buddy in tow.  Jeez Cochise, act like a dick to your hosts much?

The Weekly Skitter Report: Be Silent and Come Out

Hey now my Evil Geek Brothers and Sisters, it’s a several days past Sunday, so that means C-Mart’s finally gotten off his lazy ass and cranked out the new Weekly Skitter Report!  Last week saw Tom and Pope acting out their own human version of Homeward Bound after they survived being shot down by the Espheni, in addition to Evil Hal doing something unknown yet surely untoward with Anne and Overlord-In-Training Alexis just before the sign off.  This week finds Evil Hal still in the driver’s seat, finally showing his true nature to the people of Charleston. Plus, Pope finally points out something that’s been on my mind ever since Hal was taken over by the alien bug implanted in his ear, but more on that later.  The teasers promised that this was the episode that was going to change EVERYTHING! So did it live up to that promise? Let’s find out, shall we?

The Weekly Skitter Report: Search and Recovery

falling-skies-search-and-recoveryHello Evil Geeks and welcome to another installment of the weekly breakdown of all things Espheni: The Weekly Skitter Report!  Last week saw us evaluating new allies and re-examining old friendships as the theme of “Trust” was closely examined in the post-invasion world.  We got left with a pretty big cliffhanger as the Volm ambassador known as Cochise was hustled aboard President Hathaway’s plane in the middle of an Espheni attack, while President Mason tried to make a safe getaway in his own plane.  Shockingly, the plane carrying Tom, Pope, and General Bressler was shot down.  The previews showed us Tom and Pope heading out on a Bob Hope/Bing Crosby style “Road to Charleston” buddy, traveling comedy, so let’s see if the this Odd Couple can make it home without killing each other first.
