Successfully completing my mission to watch all of the Terminator movies, I can finally bring you my reviews of the most recent two installments in the series. A combination of explosions, psychopathic futuristic machines, and time travel science fiction, I can see why a lot of people love these movies. And the pounding drums of the main (albeit simple) theme song instill both a feeling of fear, anticipation, and determination. Here’s my take on these last two films, from a Lilith perspective.
Last week we discussed The Ood, a phenomenal alien species from the Who Universe, but it got me thinking about more “hive minded” alien species. And what better example than the classic “bugger” species known as “The Formics”? So today we will venture in to the mind and times of Ender Wiggin and discussed The Formic species for our creature comforts spotlight.
Happy weekend fellow nerds, I just can’t get enough of Doctor Who lately and am bringing you another superb alien from this series today. A well timed fart is always highly amusing, and so the alien species of Slitheen should have you rolling over with laughter as long as you can ignore the fact that they want to destroy the planet Earth. Continue onward my TARDIS loving followers for some more details on this diabolical monster.
Welcome back my TV loving geeks, are you ready for part two of Lilith’s Fringe mission? Of course you are! And I am ready to bring it to you. Last time I think the Buzzfeed-style post went over well, so I will give it a go again. I devoured season two with just as much enjoyment as the first time I watched it, and these are Lilith’s top 22 moments from Fringe Season 2. Spoilers to follow.
There are a lot of post-apocalyptic stories out there for all of us to indulge in, but every once in a while one really hits home. Children of Men was one of those films for me. I guess the story about the human race being unable to conceive children, and hence facing certain extinction, was not the reason I loved this movie. But there are many more that I want to talk to you about. This movie is one that I find myself coming back to again and again, not tiring of it’s beauty and darkness, as well as it’s message of hope and in a broken world. So I figured it was only appropriate to make a suggestions post out of it. Of course, for those of you that have not seen it already, read on for my spoiler-filled review of why this movie is one I will suggest as a personal favorite to all you evil geeks out there. I’ve done it folks. It’s been a wild ride but my mission is complete and now you viewers are going to get another taste of Lilith’s delicious opinion about Battlestar Galactica. A little while ago I set out on a mission for all my faithful followers (and in a competition with Biff) to bring them my take on each season of this show that had been recommended to me time and time again, and now this mission comes to its conclusion. It was a darker science fiction series than I was used to, watching important individuals and entire species be at their lowest low and their highest high was tough on my heartstrings, but it was worth the ride. So spoiler alert, be forewarned, I am going to give you my stunning conclusion to this series now.
