A Collection Of Dave Steven’s Rocketeer Art

The Rocketeer has become a beloved character in the rich history of the American pulp genre. Creator, Dave Stevens claimed to not enjoy being an interior artist but preferred doing covers and it shows. I decided to collect some of my favorite Rocketeer covers and pinups Stevens did for the series. I think you’ll agree that this really allowed his design flair and figure work to really shine.

Pulp Corner: The Rocketeer – The Complete Adventures

The Rocketeer is a character who has done a good job worming its way into the American consciousness over the last 30 or so years, without really doing much. I had loved the 1991 Disney movie when I was a kid, but when I watched it as an adult I felt strangely let down. IDW eventually acquired the rights to the character and put out all of the different parts that make up Dave Stevens main story and released them as a collection. It was time for me to finally investigate the hype.

The Majesty Of Kevin Wada (Part 2)

There was so much beautiful Kevin Wada art available that I had to break it into two articles. Really, this is just scratching the surface too. Wada’s technique is filled with such style and class that it elevates it past the comic book medium. He currently is bringing his unique design aesthetic to the covers of She-Hulk, but with that series wrapping up shortly he’ll be available for (hopefully) another monthly comic. What title do you think he’s best suited for?
