Marvel goes retro with Phil Noto Variants

Morning Geeks!
A couple days ago Biff Tannen posted an awesome cover of Black Window by superstar artist Phil Noto. I’ve always been a fan of Noto’s and really like long and lean features that he gives to his characters, it kind of reminds me of high-fashion illustrations. Anyway, it got me remembering that Marvel announced at NYCC this year that Noto would be providing a slew of retro-looking variant covers designed by Noto himself for February and this week we’ve been privy to a whole bunch of them. Check these babies out and sound off in the comments with your thoughts!

Evil Geek Book Report – Marvel Mythos

I had never heard of Marvel Mythos, but as I started digging around for information about Paolo Rivera after my fateful encounter at Comic Con this year, I couldn’t escape it. Released as a series of one shots between 2006-2008 (during my self-imposed comic book exile) each issue was a retelling of some of Marvel character’s origins and first issues. The stories are adapted by Paul Jenkins and fully painted by Paolo Rivera, making this a nice companion piece to the classic Marvels miniseries.

Hail Hydra!

Thats right Evil Geeks, today I am hailing Hydra because thanks to a leak the world got to see the trailer to Avengers Age of Ultron about a week earlier that expected so Marvel released the real one online. All I can say is “Is it May yet?”

Marvel at least has a sense of humor!

Marvel at least has a sense of humor!

Seriously, this movie looks insane based on just the little over 2 minutes that we’ve seen. James Spader’s voice for Ultron is so creepy that it gives you chills. The action is incredible and it just feels like the stakes are much higher this time. Check it out for yourself! Read the rest of this entry

What’s APPening: Avengers Alliance

Hey there Evil Geeks!  There comes a time in every gamer’s life when they find themselves separated from the thing they love the most: their console or PC.  Stranded, without opportunity for gaming, the true gamer would shrivel and die when confronted with this hellish reality.  Thankfully we live in a world of advanced mobile technology; where anyone can carry a portable gaming system with them wherever they go!  Recently I’ve fallen down the rabbit hole that is Avengers Alliance by Playdom Games.  So how does this free app play?  Read on to find out!

The Beyonder’s Superhero Sixteen Tournament of Champions…The Championship!

Good Afternoon Ladies and GentleNerds!

Last night we saw Louisville take the win in the NCAA Tournament but our cosmic beings were watching a different channel! It’s The Green Goliath versus the Dark Knight Detective for the Championship. It looked like The Beyonder was going to win the pool but then Korvac came out of the bathroom and had Hulk and Bats in the final, so the whole house is siding with Korvac because they never really trusted the Beyonder anyway, in fact most of them came for the free beer! So on with the fight…
