What’s up, Zombie Heads!?!? Were just a few episodes in to the new half season of The Walking Dead and each episode keeps bringing us more tragedy, but also more hope at the same time. It seems like hope is the only thing keeping the Grimes party continuing on towards their goal of reaching Washington D.C. Think about that for a second; they’re walking to Washington… from Georgia. I’m tired just from typing that sentence. A trip like that, conducted in the blazing heat of the Deep South is bound to drain even the toughest persons’ spirit and stamina. Sure enough after marching for so long, our gang’s running low not only on food and water, but also on the hope for something better that’s been driving them. When a stranger shows up offering just the thing they’re searching for, you’d think the group would at least be somewhat welcoming, right? Yeah, no. They’re not.
Greetings, Evil Geeks! The Walking Dead came back that week, signaling what’s basically the halfway point of Winter. We’re almost out of the woods with snow and ice season, but of course the return of our favorite zombie soap opera also means that emotional trauma season is just getting underway. Between Beth’s tragic death in the mid-season finale and Tyreese’s also tragic death last week, the group, as well as the viewers are mentally worn down with anguish. Two characters who arguably could be called the heart of the group of survivors have been brutally ripped away. Can Rick and the others recover from this devastating blow?
Hey geeks, I have insanely good news for you. You are going to be blessed with back to back Lilith Assisi articles today! Yes, I know that just made your day. And my first article is a review of this past weekend’s Walking Dead. I personally thoroughly enjoyed last week’s episode Self Help, so figured it would be difficult for me to like this week’s episode as much as last week’s. Sadly my fears were confirmed. It was a decent episode, though certainly some things that irked me. Continue forward for my spoiler and rant filled review! You have to give me some leeway, I have after all never written a Zombie Round-Up before and being the zombie aficionado that I am I might have to go all out for this review.
It’s that time of year again, Evil Geeks. The air gets a little crisper. The days get a little shorter. The dead start to walk across our TV screens again. The Walking Dead came back this week in full force, kicking off what is already looking to be a crazy season 5. What’s the best way for a show that can at times slow down to a glacial pace in terms of storytelling? Why with 1 full hour of zombie killing action, big ass explosions, and a healthy dose of some sweet, sweet fan service!
Here we find ourselves Evil Geeks, at the end of another season of our favorite zombie infestation! Last week we got a little bit of happiness in our sadness stew, so naturally we’re expecting a heaping scoop of sorrow in the season 4 finale of The Walking Dead. Will a newly reunited Glen and Maggie be torn apart by death? Would Tyreese decide that maybe he wasn’t as forgiving of Carol as he thought he was? Will Carl finally emo somebody to death! So many questions for such a small hour! Let’s get to it!
Well Evil Geeks, after an episode like last week’s, we definitely need a little bit of an emotional break. Being this late in the season though, of course The Walking Dead isn’t going to stop bombarding us with the feels, but luckily this week we get a happy ending as opposed to the whiskey bottle draining ending that we (and Lizzy of course) met last week. Seriously, sales of Prozac must have skyrocketed this week after that depression fest. Onward and upward zombie heads!
