Your Weekend Creature Comforts: The Geonosians
Another weekend of recovery for Lilith here, still another 3 weeks before I can return to work while my knee heals from surgery, so what did I delve in to this past weekend? Why a Star Wars Marathon of course! Sounds like the appropriate thing to do. The difference this time is I started with the prequels, which is a rarity for me. Yes, I obviously am a purist and prefer the original series, but I thought it might be time to re-watch the prequels being that I have an insane amount of free time on my hands. So today I want to talk about one of my favorite species from the prequels: the Geonosians. Read the rest of this entry
Your Weekend Creature Comforts: Liefeld’s Animals
Our Liefeld week is sadly coming near to an end, so today I will not be pontificating and educating you about some amazing creature in my usual style. Instead I dedicate today’s post to random artwork I have found by our star this week that involves creatures of some form or another. Enjoy the artwork nerds!
Your Weekend Creature Comforts: Steven Spielberg’s Aliens
The week has gone by all too quickly again, and here you find yourselves ready for yet another post by your faithful Lilith. And sure enough, this weekend’s creature comforts post is one to get all hot and bothered by. I know I’ve been on a Star Wars kick lately, specifically spending a lot of time on Tatooine, but today I am completely shifting gears and bringing you an article on quite an accumulation of amazing creatures. That’s right, I am not sticking with one species, but instead am spotlighting all the incredible aliens that the dinosaur god Steven Spielberg has ever created. So there will be quite a few aliens to talk about this week, ending with my personal favorite of this powerhouse’s monsters.

Your Weekend Creature Comforts: Lilith’s Back
I know I normally greet you all back to your favorite weekend column, but I guess I should be welcoming myself back. As you all know, I got a bit distracted last week and sadly found myself snatched by some repulsive troll. Naturally my wolves were on the way to my rescue when Arthur had to intervene, probably to keep himself more entertained than anything since my wolves and I had the situation under control. If you ask me, he just wanted another excuse to play with that tentacle-thingy of his from the earth. But I am back this weekend, and I am setting out alone this week, leaving my wolves and their lovely aroma of “troll farts” as my parting gift to the geeks still in the evil lair. Where am I off to? Well, last weekend I don’t think anyone adequately answered the riddle posed by the troll. I am not sure what your vote is, but I think the answer is “a river”. Arthur? Is it really wolves? I think a river could be an answer as well. But I digress, the riddle this week is not where I am off to, but it did inspire me to pursue the mighty sphinx.
Your Weekend Creature Comforts: Who Kidnapped Lillith?
Wait a minute….what day is it? If you’re looking at yourself wondering where Lillith is, I’m sorry to tell you that she has been taken hostage, so unfortunately you are going to be stuck with me today. I know what you’re thinking….that I had some kind of hand in getting her kidnapped….which is completely false. I have been tasked with figuring out what has happened to our master of the wild, and I will be doing my absolute best in locating her. We received a ransom note, and all it did was just make the whole thing that much stranger. I have a hunch as to what happened, and the clues seem to fit, but it can’t be…..let me explain.
The sky is open to me, but I guard what is below
My master and captor decides who will go
He has the woman, but your mind is his lust
If his question goes unanswered, her bones will turn to dust
Cross me and you will find my ultimate treasure
Go underneath me and it will be my pleasure
What the hell is that? Obviously , much like myself, I am assuming you all have come to the same sort of conclusion…..ninjas….no? Am I the only one? Alright, alright. What would be the first thing that pops into your head for this….shall we call it a riddle? A riddle indeed. Besides Blaine the Mono and the Riddler, there aren’t that many beings that would be willing to leave or enjoy a good riddle. This was left on the door of the Evil Lair, driven into it with a wood and stone hand axe, much like my future wedding invitations (which if you take my idea I will cut everything out of you and drag it behind my car on the highway.) High alert ran rampant throughout the Lair and Lillith’s wolves would not stop howling. I felt bad for the poor guys. They seemed to have some kind of scent, and they hated it. It was driving them crazy. So I did what I vowed to do, which was finish Lego Marvel before starting the search in earnest. I took my spellbooks, my undead, and the wolves. Let’s do this.
