What’s Appening?! – Animal Crossing Pocket Camp

I never really care about any gaming news, but I will admit that I actually watched the Nintendo Direct on Day 1 of E3 specifically because I needed to hear some sweet, sweet Animal Crossing news. I’ve recently become completely addicted to Animal Crossing: New Leaf (my house is almost fully expanded, thank you very much – and I only owe Tom Nook both kidneys and my first born male! What a steal!) and while it’s very fun and adorable, but at some point, I know I’m going to climb as high as I can go in the illustrious town of “Kawaii”. (Yes, that’s my town’s name, and the town song just so happens to be “Spooky Scary Skeletons, too!) So, to prevent myself from burning out on the franchise before April 2020, I’ve decided to switch up my Animal Crossing games.

What’s App-ening – Game of Thrones: Ascent

Game-of-Thrones-Ascent-logo640

Hey there, Evil Geek gang. It hasn’t been that long since the last season of Game of Thrones ended and that means we’re in for a long haul until the next season starts.  Right about now, you’re probably just hitting that first stage of withdrawal pretty hard; itching and scratching for just a little bit more time in the land of Westeros.  You could of course re-watch the entire series so that you’ll be primed and ready to hit the ground running once the new season starts.  That path might be a little too passive for some though. Some people need to be the ones in control, the power behind the throne that is to say.  If you’re one of those shadowy, schemer types with an eye on the Iron Throne then Disruptor Beam has got a game that’s right up your alley.  Game of Thrones: Ascent makes you the lord of your very own fiefdom right smack in the middle of Westeros and lets you get a turn playing the ever vicious, never dull Game of Thrones!

What Killed My Social Life Last Year – 2013 Gaming In Review

This picture actually does a better job of conveying “Gaming circa 2009”, but whatever.

Greetings Evil Geek Gamers or EGGs, if you’re up for a cool sounding acronym.  When will the EGGs hatch? Soon. What will the EGGs hatch? Terror, bad cholesterol, and world domination! 2013 has certainly been a year in which gaming has taken place.  That’s to say that it’s not been unbearably horrible, but in my opinion it hasn’t been stellar either.  Sure we’ve had some great games and even one that could be considered a masterpiece of storytelling, but we’ve had our fair share of turds hit the market this year and even some games that had great expectations, but managed to be only so-so in their final execution.  Let’s take a look at some of the stuff that I thought worked, some that outright sucked, and some that were just meh.

What’s Killing My Social Life This Week – Doctor Who: Legacy

1385998449

What’s up Evil Geek Gamers!  Normally I worship at the altar of console gaming, but lately I’ve been losing a lot of time to one incredibly addictive app.  The game is free, but the best part is that it features everyone’s favorite Gallifreyan badass, the Doctor!  Rarely will we feature a mobile game, but damnit when one this cool comes along you know we’re going to be all over it.  This game has swept across the Evil Lair between Arthur Harkness, Big Evil, and myself faster than that flu that killed all of those people at the prison on The Walking Dead.  Put your brain in puzzle solving mode and get your sonics at the ready Evil Geeks, we’ve got a game to play!

Hey there Evil Geeks!  There comes a time in every gamer’s life when they find themselves separated from the thing they love the most: their console or PC.  Stranded, without opportunity for gaming, the true gamer would shrivel and die when confronted with this hellish reality.  Thankfully we live in a world of advanced mobile technology; where anyone can carry a portable gaming system with them wherever they go!  Recently I’ve fallen down the rabbit hole that is Avengers Alliance by Playdom Games.  So how does this free app play?  Read on to find out!
