There comes a time in everyone’s life where you decide to check something out that you may not be entirely sure of. It’s called courage in some places, in others, it’s called madness. I don’t usually stray too far from my comfort zone in terms of what I put into my brain for entertainment consumption, but after exhausting the shows I was currently into on NetFlix and running out of ways to try and convince Lady Harkness to watch The Wire, we decided to check out Resurrection. The show was already a few episodes in, about 5 or 6 I would say, so if we liked it, we had something to watch for a few days. I popped it on, sat back in my chair and prepared to enjoy something new. Forty five minutes later, I was struggling not to kill myself. Let me explain.
Hey there Evil Geeks, the craziness that has been Agents of Shield continues this week as we get a look at another Marvel U supervillain, we say goodbye to a very welcome recent addition who will be sorely missed, Ward continues to be an A-1 piece of crap, and we finally meet that special cellist in Phil Coulson’s life. Read on Agents of the Evil Geeks!
Hey There Fanboys and Geekgirls
I know that I’m a bit late with this, but damn I gotta talk about this past week’s S.H.I.E.L.D. This show has been a roller coaster as of late, so much so that we dedicated our last podcast to it in fact. Anyway this is where we’re at; coming right out of Cap 2, S.H.I.E.L.D. is in ruins and HYDRA has reared its ugly head and has infiltrated the organization. Our team has been jumping around looking for the Clairvoyant and come to find out that it’s been John Garrett all along and he’s had an inside man pulling some strings with none other than Grant Ward. So what can Coulson and company do now? Read on to find out!
Evil Geeks, it wasn’t that long ago, perhaps maybe 3 or 4 months back when this show was first getting off the ground that one of our readers said in the comment section that they were waiting for Agent’s of SHIELD to have a “HOLY SHIT!!!” moment to really get them into the story. I assured them that with Joss Whedon at the helm, this show would most certainly have a moment like that in store for the audience. After the first half of the season I was starting to worry that I would have to eat those words, but the second half of the season has been EXPLOSIVE beyond all hopes, with nearly every single episode giving us a jaw dropper. With surprise after surprise being rained down on us, would the Marvel U’s first foray into television be able to keep us in suspense? After Turn, Turn, Turn, the answer to that question is a resounding “YYYUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUPPPPPPP!!!!”
HOLY SHIT True Believers!
My headline says all it needs to about this weeks episode of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Let’s recap what’s gone on so far in the past few weeks… first Skye was gunned down and left for dead by Ian Quinn who was working for the Clairvoyant. Mike Peterson who seemed like a good guy was transformed into the cybernetic Deathlok, and the team rushed to get the Coulson cure for Skye which turned out to be some blue guys alien blood! On top of that, it appeared that Melinda May is a double agent of some sort ending the last episode with Coulson knows… Wanna know where we go from here, just keep on reading! Welcome back Evil Geek S.H.I.E.L.D. bearers! Remember back in the not too distant past when everyone was all like “Wow, this S.H.I.E.L.D. show is slow-moving”? It seems the second half of the season has stepped up its game quite a bit and now we’re getting big happenings in every episode. This week was certainly no different, as we get a genuine super-villain, a big time Asgardian straight from one of the recent Marvel flicks, and a bit of a surprise at the end. Let’s not waste any more time vamping, wheels up in 5!
