Biff’s 2013 Comics In Review
2013 was a banner year for geekology, but with our sights toward 2014 there is a lot to be excited about between all the movies (SIN CITY 2!?!), video games, tv shows and etc on the horizon, but I’d like to focus on comic books in this article. More accurately, Biff comic books.
Current Series
Superior Spider-Man (Marvel)
It’s been mentioned on the site before, but this is probably my favorite series of 2013. It’s energetic, interesting above all else refreshing. I know there’s a lot of nay sayers who refuse to read it based solely on principal, but dammit you don’t know what you’re missing out on (not to mention stubbornness is not an attractive quality) and honestly what do you have to lose? You know if you wait it out long enough the real Peter Parker will return. Just think of this series as a long interlude. Why not stick around for the ride?
Slott is my favorite kind of writer, it’s obvious that he’s planned story lines for years in advance and has the ability to subtly weave subplots through them that you always know are going to pay off. You don’t stay on a book as its author for that long if there isn’t something to it. With a book consistently being this good and being put out twice a month is heavenly. Things are heating up in 2014 with the beginning of the Goblin Nation story line that’s been building since the book debuted with some speculation that the series will wrap you shortly afterward. It’s been an exciting year for Spidey but 2014 seems to be starting off strong as well.

Your Weekend Creature Comforts: Lilith’s Top Five Creatures From 2013
Hello my slimy followers, how was your 2013? I apologize for being a slacker the last couple weeks with the holidays and only consistently bringing you this amazing creature column on the weekends, I realized it is not nearly enough to satiate your need for Lilith posts. This week I decided with the start of the New Year it would be a good time to reflect back and discuss my favorite creatures from the year 2013. I am sure that there are many creatures I missed since there is only so much time in the year for me to indulge in new books, movies, and TV shows, so I apologize ahead of time to all those of you that want me to write about Pacific Rim, Riddick, or Wolverine, I haven’t gotten to see them yet. But read on for the monsters I loved the most this year so far.
Here’s to You 2013…..You Sack of Shit
Happy New Year you filthy animals! I hope you all had a very happy holiday season filled with joy and mirth and whatever else you standard humans enjoy. Mine was pretty awesome, mainly because of the sheer amount of blood and potion ingredients I received from my familiars and colleagues, but that wasn’t the only reason. It was also the end of an era, and the end of a year of total and complete bullshit. Oh whatever could you mean, Arthur? 2013 was a pretty good year! It was the year that the Evil Geeks made their stamp on the nation and all of these awesome Pop culture things happened! Well, you could say that, but in reality, none of that should have happened. What should have happened……was this……
