Hey gang, Lilith here, been a while, I no, but someone’s got to bring you their opinion on this epic new installment in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian, and specifically baby Yoda aka the Child, has probably given Disney thousands of Disney Plus subscriptions and not without reason. Rather than write a play by play or discuss possible theories of what is to come, or even just rant about the show’s awesomeness, I want to instead compare this show to my still all-time favorite science fiction TV series and why I feel this show is destined for success. Very minimal spoilers to follow.Read the rest of this entry
Tales from Westeros: The Last Logs of Grand Master Zed Season 8 Episodes 3 & 4 “The Long Night” and “The Last of the Starks”
Hello and welcome again to the Evil Geeks Citadel, I as always am your esteemed chronicler, Grand Master Zed, giving you the prints that were promised, the re-watching of them all, and the keyboard that guard the realms of men. These last two weeks, at least I’ve found, should be looked at one after another because these episodes unfortunately have major ramifications for how the last two episodes are going to go. If you haven’t yet watched “The Long Night”, its pretty much all battle scenes with very few plot consequences and while sad, inconsequential character deaths, so I’m gonna mostly gloss over every “oh no that person’s going to die ohhhhh wait they’re fine”. I do this to then dedicate most of my energy to “The Last of the Starks” which I believed to be a bit of a dud episode. Lets hop into them both!
Tales from Westeros: The Final Logs of Grand Master Zed Season 8 Episode 2: “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms”
Hello and welcome back again my would be sitters of the Throne, my army of the #Dead, its your favorite chronicler of the tales of dragons and wolves, of gods and men, of fire an ice, Grand Master Zed. My collegiate duties have stalled me once more, but here we are for perhaps the last episode of Game of Thrones where the threat of the army of the dead isn’t just a story to scare your children to the people of Westeros. We had some interesting twists and some perhaps unexpected character moments this episode. So lets dive right in to “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms”!
Tales from Westeros: The Final Logs of Grand Master Zed; Season 7 Episode 7, “The Dragon and the Wolf” and Season 8 Episode 1, “Winterfell”
A somber hello to you, my Thrones fans, its everyone’s favorite keeper of knowledge, Grand Master Zed back to guide you through the emotional waters of our final season together. I am just now catching up to reviewing, so check out my season 7 episode 6 review as well. As we can see from just this first episode of season 8 alone, there is a lot to be done over the next few episodes. There were reunions, rescues bad news, and revelations in the first episode of season 8, but in the interest of extending our season together; and because I have been locked up in the Evil Geeks Citadel’s library for too long and forgot to impart such a tale on you, we are gonna start by taking a brief look back at the major moments of the last episode of last season: The Dragon and the Wolf.
A bittersweet hello to you today, Thrones fans. I am Grand Master Zed and I am your guide for the end of the world as we know it. Lets hop into the last hours of this Season 7. Once we’re done, we’ll have the next season; the final season. My final time serving the realm for Tales from Westeros. But we’ll cross that horribly depressing bridge when we come to it.
Lilith here, back from, well, who knows. I guess the truth is us Evil Geeks just keep getting older with more and more adult villainy to pursue, and less time to bring you the important updates from the geek world you deserve. Whether you are a goodie or a baddie, getting old is rough. But enough of the whole “Back in my day…” I’m here, and I want to tell you about some fun stuff. This time about a novel from my self-proclaimed FAVORITE AUTHOR. Mira Grant does it again, mixing horror and science fiction in a fun, modern way. Previously with zombies, then with parasites, and now with, you guessed it, mermaids.
