Hey Geeks! Lilith is going to be checking out the new Campbell Con here in Silicon Valley tomorrow. You should too for all your recent fandom needs. Hope to see some of you there!
Welcome back, Evil Geeks! Hope you enjoyed part 1 of our NYCC photo coverage yesterday. Today we’re bringing you the second half of the 2015 con, featuring all the best cosplayers we could lay our eyes upon. It was an exhausting weekend, so C-Mart and Undies of Wondy have been taking an extended dip in the Evil Lair’s Lazarus Pi…er, uh ummmm, health spa mineral bath to recouperate after all the craziness. There’s only one thing to do now that this memorable con weekend has come to an end: start planning for NYCC 2016. See you in approximately 358 days, Evil Geeks!

Another year, another AMAZING weekend at the Jacob Javitz Center in New York City! Big news announcements, huge surprise guest appearances, and of course a never ending parade of incredible cosplays marked a phenomenal year for NYCC. If you weren’t lucky enough to score tickets to this years’ event, fear not; C-Mart was on the scene and managed to snap some pics of the con as well as a few of the after parties, so you won’t have to miss a second of the action. Enjoy part 1, but prepare yourself for part two which will be dropping tomorrow!

It’s no secret I’m a bit of a Disney obsessed nerd. I used to work for the company, I literally plan my life around visits to the theme parks, and I follow literally every Disney blog and podcast I can get my hands on. Since Disney has acquired some awesome properties like Marvel and Star Wars, D23 Expo definitely had some awesome nerdy announcements this weekend that had me jumping for joy! The massive event takes place in Anaheim right near the motherland, Disneyland Resort. I’ve followed the Expo religiously all weekend and have compiled the list of some of the most awesome announcements made at D23 Expo, so look no further, here’s the best stuff to come out of D23:
Hey gang! It’s been a long, crazy, con-filled, Summer with some more events yet to come (like FantaCon on August 29 & 30th!). We’ve had some pics stored in the vault of the Evil Lair for the past few months, aging like the finest of wines and cheeses. Today’s gallery brings us all the way back to the Albany Comic Con in June (ok, ok, it wasn’t THAT long ago, but our time machine’s been on the fritz lately, so quite frankly we’re pretty damn lucky to be going back farther than your typical DVR can rewind). Hope you enjoy this oasis of cosplay during the summer drought! We’ll be bringing you more pics as the year goes on. See you soon, Evil Geeks!
Not long ago, the Evil Geeks held court at the Albany Comic Con. And while the camphor and mentholyptus we rubbed on our stiff upper lips distracted us from the unpleasant smells afoot that afternoon, we still needed distraction from the boredom that plagued us. And thus, the rogue Biff Tannen devised an exercise that was both entertaining and productive: a groupwide collaborative artistic effort. In essence, a sort of “We Are The World” composed of pencil strokes rather than voices, but an all star assortment nonetheless.
The came the question of a topic. What subject could possibly allow for the wildly diverse styles and the unpredictably unusual choices of our artists? Why, their artistic choices seem to almost come from entirely separate universes! Eu-motherfucking-reka! Crisis on Infinite Earths from DC Comics and Secret Wars (The current series which has unashamedly stolen the plot of the former) would afford our creators the perfect opportunity to use any character they like and to render them as unusually as they undoubtedly would. The game was thenceforth afoot.
I sat on the sidelines as the aforementioned Biff Tannen, his frequent collaborator/competitor Arthur Harkness, and newcomers to the game C-Mart and Big Evil sketched out two pages worth of epic Universe-shattering action. A few visitors to the table even got in on the fun. It truly is, as I am assured the children still say, a “Jam Piece”.
I’m not one for ado, and I cannot imagine your tastes run so dissimilar to mine as to welcome it, so let us not tarry any further. I give you the two pages that comprise our INFINITY WARS.
First, the Marvel side of things:
And then DC:
Excuse the crudity of this coming statement, but hold on to your butts and try not to shit your britches, because what’s to come will leave your jaw agape in awe.
Are you ready?
I’m not kidding around… take a moment if needed.
