Hey gang, Lilith here, been a while, I no, but someone’s got to bring you their opinion on this epic new installment in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian, and specifically baby Yoda aka the Child, has probably given Disney thousands of Disney Plus subscriptions and not without reason. Rather than write a play by play or discuss possible theories of what is to come, or even just rant about the show’s awesomeness, I want to instead compare this show to my still all-time favorite science fiction TV series and why I feel this show is destined for success. Very minimal spoilers to follow.Read the rest of this entry
Hello nerds, not gonna lie, while I enjoyed getting to indulge in some Wonder Woman as a Christmas Day treat, the holiday still feels a little hollow without Doctor Who. But HBO and Warner Brothers tried their best to fill our vacant minds with something to celebrate for the holiday. There were things they did right, things they could have done better, and things that I wish I never saw. Below is my spoiler filled opinion of this piece.
Ok, serious question folks, how in the hell have one of my fellow geeks not written about this show yet?!?! We’re seeing more and more reboots and remakes these days, so I had low expectations for this prequel, especially since capturing Jim Henson’s perfect puppets and the feeling you got watching them as a child is hard to replicate, but somehow, they did it.
Need a little whacky sci-fi series with Elijah Wood, a british protagonist, and super bizarre characters? Look no further, Dirk Gently and his Holistic Detective Agency is here!
Lilith here briefly making an appearance outside of her dark and lovely forest. And you might be seeing less and less of me now that I’ve also dived deeper in to the world of TV and finally purchased Netflix as well as Disney +. You’re probably wondering how I made it so long without it? I guess I’m just old fashioned, I like something I can hold in my hands, often in the form of a shiny dvd, a crisp paper book, or a bloody arm stump. You understand, right? But being a new streaming convert means I have so much more television to get through and binge on, and this week I want to tell you about my first fun TV show I enjoyed from this new account: The Umbrella Academy.
Lilith here, back from, well, who knows. I guess the truth is us Evil Geeks just keep getting older with more and more adult villainy to pursue, and less time to bring you the important updates from the geek world you deserve. Whether you are a goodie or a baddie, getting old is rough. But enough of the whole “Back in my day…” I’m here, and I want to tell you about some fun stuff. This time about a novel from my self-proclaimed FAVORITE AUTHOR. Mira Grant does it again, mixing horror and science fiction in a fun, modern way. Previously with zombies, then with parasites, and now with, you guessed it, mermaids.
