Greetings Evil Geeks! We dug way deep down into the Evil Lair vaults this week to bring you a show from times of antiquity: 5 LONG MONTHS AGO! Back on Free Comic Book Day this past May, Undies of Wondy invaded Zombie Planet in Colonie, NY and turned the mic on the gathering horde of comic enthusiasts. C-Mart shows up at the end and we close the show with a rendition of “Let It Go” as sung by the heartless mercenary, Deathstroke. An enormous THANK YOU to George Vasilakos, owner of Zombie Planet for having the Evil Geeks in the store that day! Be sure to check out this amazing store at zombie-planet.com!

It’s here!!! Yup, we don’t even have to wait until October this year, AMC is giving us a prequel series: Fear The Walking Dead. It’s the perfect way to prepare yourself for a zombie-filled fall. The truth is I initially thought it was a bad idea, I mean, how much zombie can one TV channel produce? But then I saw the trailer, and I was downright overwhelmed with excitement. This show is supposed to be about the outbreak when it first started, and unlike TWD takes place in a cityscape, with all the added scares and thrills that will add to the show. This past Sunday night I finally got to experience the 1.5 hour long season premiere and now you get to hear all about my spoiler filled take on it.
I did it. I saw Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four movie.
Hello out there in Internet land! I finally had the immense pleasure of being able to pick up a copy of Sam Maggs’ definitive guide to being a geek girl, ‘The Fangirl’s Guide to the Galaxy”, and I’ll just say that it may as well be called “A Guide on Undiesofwondy” because this book was SO PERFECT. All kidding aside, one of the things I most enjoyed about this book, and a reason why I’d recommend this to other fangirls is because there’s something all geeks can relate to inside. Maggs’ even includes a little disclaimer right at the beginning of the book; “…you don’t have to be someone who identifies as female to enjoy it. If you’re someone who identifies as a fan [girl], then this book is for you.”
It’s no secret I’m a bit of a Disney obsessed nerd. I used to work for the company, I literally plan my life around visits to the theme parks, and I follow literally every Disney blog and podcast I can get my hands on. Since Disney has acquired some awesome properties like Marvel and Star Wars, D23 Expo definitely had some awesome nerdy announcements this weekend that had me jumping for joy! The massive event takes place in Anaheim right near the motherland, Disneyland Resort. I’ve followed the Expo religiously all weekend and have compiled the list of some of the most awesome announcements made at D23 Expo, so look no further, here’s the best stuff to come out of D23:
When I heard about this, I was floored. At the height of the Adam West Batman show Japan was given full license by DC to create a Batman Manga “adaption”. I use the term adaption loosely for reasons you’ll see shortly. Western audiences weren’t privy to much information about this until the 2008 publication of Chip Kidd’s Bat-Manga!: The Secret History Of Batman in Japan book blew the lid off it. This gave the world some context and background and the first translations of artist Jiro Kuwata’s fabled Batmanga stories albeit incomplete.
DC got the hint though and have started a campaign to release the Batmanga across 3 trade paperbacks in its complete form for the first time. The first two have seen release with the third getting put out near the beginning of 2016. I recently sat down and took Volume 1 head on.
