Evil Geeks Art Gallery – It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad Men Finale
Appreciators of fine art that we are here at the ever-growing Evil Geeks Art Gallery, no manner of media is beyond of grasp. Sure, we are renowned for our collection of priceless recreations of pop fiction’s treasured moments, but classic cinema, fashion, and most certainly television in today’s Golden Age. And with the finale of AMC’s stellar series Mad Men only a day away, we decided to commemorate our shared love for this fine filmic serial with a poster. A poster celebrating the eight years of fantastic programming to which we’ve been treated. Naturally, this job was not to be left to amateurs.
Since no comprehensive poster exists, artist Biff Tannen designed a blueprint from which our artists could construct an Eighth Wonder of the World.
Arthur Harkness, one of the artists kept on retainer for such projects, was off battling the forces of good in another dimension, or deep in throes of his love for video games, or somesuch and thus not readily available for this project. So to join the returning talents of our man Biff Tannen, I’ve enlisted the brush (or ballpoint) of a fellow fan of Mad Men and an artist whose work has yet to be hung in these hallowed halls, one Dixon Steele.
I get it. Believe me, I do. You’re probably just scrolling past these paragraphs in a rush to see beautiful works of art. Take warning, however. The eyes of a mere man may not be capable of processing the majesty of the following drawings. Surely, these illustrations are better suited to the eyes of GODS!
I warn you once again. The following image is not for the faint of heart. And I mean that quite literally, those with pre-existing heart conditions should take heed, you stand on the precipice of untold visual splendors. I am as Prometheus, bringing to you mere mortals a force that will forever shape the course of history and may very well spell my doom.
I regret nothing.
And, although I cannot fathom the circumstances in which it would be needed, what follows is a key to the poster. A veritable “Who’s Who” in the world of Sterling, Cooper, Draper and Pryce.
I don’t know about you all, but I could certainly use a cigarette.
