Monthly Archives: March 2014
Wow, today is it folks. I am so sad to be bringing this month long jaunt of warrior women to a close. But I am lovingly doing it with Deanerys Targaryen, the beloved khaleesi, the mother of dragons. We are after all less than a week away from Season 4 of Game of Thrones, and this woman warrior is my current idol.
This week Big Evil, Biff Tannen, C-Mart, and Martian Luthor Kang the 117th talk up the Summer Movie Season and begin to get a little angry about turtles, sequels, and a bunch of other junk that Hollywood is throwing at us. Then the discussion moves to a happy place when the news for Batman’s 75th Anniversary plans are announced…Enjoy!
Greetings Evil Geeks!
Ten cents can’t buy you much of anything today, but 75 years ago to the date that lucky dime of yours could buy you a copy of Detective Comics #27 and give you a guaranteed 64 pages of action and most importantly, introduce you to The Bat-Man!
The Bat-Man? With a “the” and a hyphen? Yup, that’s right. In the beginning he wasn’t the common household name that we all know today. Created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger, the vigilante comic was a hit and within a year the dark knight sensation got a second comic of his own and history tells the rest of the story that we all know today!
DC Comics plans a 75 Anniversary celebration For the birthday occasion, I bring you a panel from his first appearance and a promise… To celebrate the Bat all year long! I know, I know… I already do that, right? Well yeah, but I’ll have the whole comics industry doing it with me this year with DC throwing the party! Read the rest of this entry
Happy Sunday geeks. Today, our second to last day from the end of our Woman Warrior jaunt, we are featuring Leela from Futurama. You all know from previous posts this month that I love a strong female role, and I love role reversal. In many ways Leela brings us both.
Hey there dudes and dudettes, we are sadly approaching the end of March and only have a couple more days to bring you our amazing daily female spotlights. Today I am delighted to bring you a woman that I whole heartedly admire. So the “stay at home mom” status is not something I really ever want for myself, but if there was ever a woman I would want to model myself after in that role it would be Molly Weasley. Despite having seven children, six of which are rambunctious boys, Molly Weasley always seems to have everything put together, even if it is a little chaotic, and is one of the most important anchors for the entire Harry Potter series.
Are you geeks as stoked as I am that Game of Thrones Season 4 starts in just over a week?!?! With the anticipation for the continuation of this amazing show, I have decided to spend the next two weeks talking about creatures from this stunning series. Today we spotlight White Walkers.
