Mornin’ Evil Geeks!
Last night Jimmy Kimmel gave fanboys around the world a treat with the first full-length trailer for Marvel’s newest sci-fi cosmic flick “Guardians of the Galaxy!” There’s been tons of speculation around not only the Evil Lair, but the entire internet about this movie and many people think that Marvel is really betting on a longshot with this one here, but I gotta say after seeing the trailer I’m definitely excited!!! Check it out here…
So, I totally buy Chris Pratt as Starlord and from what you see the comedy doesn’t seem forced. Although I thought that Batista from WWE would suck, he looks like a good Drax at least and I’ve always thought that Zoe Saldana could work as Gamora. Groot seems like Groot and Vin Diesel can’t really screw up the lines since all he says is “I am GROOT.” Add to that the simple fact that Rocket Raccoon is the man, er uh, mammal (played by Bradley Cooper) and you’ve got a decent team of slackers who just might get the job done!!! Also, Karen Gillan (of Amy Pond fame) looks badass as Nebula too. The only thing that I wish is that we got a better look at Ronan the Accuser who will be played by Lee Pace, but the Nova Corps made up for it. (Calling in the last scene that Nova makes his debut btw!)
All in all, it looks fun and action packed which works for me, so kudos to Marvel for taking a gamble in this franchise, which looks to me will set up their cosmic side of the house and eventually get us to the Infinity Gems. (But in case this sucks, they’ll be raking in the dough from Cap 2, Spidey 2, and X-Men I forget what number their on, so don’t feel too bad for them…just kidding, this’ll be good!) After you check out the trailer make sure to sound off in the comments to let us know what you think. Guardians of the Galaxy opens worldwide on August 1st, 2014.
See ya at the Movies!

Welcome back fuckfaces! I’m just kidding. You all know I love you….in the most platonic yet moist of ways. Recently I’ve acquired an absolute obsession with podcasts featuring stand up comedians and have been trudging through YouTube and iTunes grabbing up every one I possibly can, which is tough because the art of the podcast has blown up significantly in recent times. There’s so many that you can literally listen for near eternity and not get through every one, but this works for me because I honestly need something to keep me entertained…otherwise Arthur gets listless, and when I get listless, shit starts going downhill. Anyways, enough about that, and more about this.
This week on Transmissions From the Evil Lair, documentarian Marisa Stotter stops by to talk her newest project, She Makes Comics, a celebration of women in comics throughout history. You can help Marisa get her movie Kickstarted by donating to their campaign here. You can also check out She Makes Comics on Twitter @SheMakesComics or on Facebook also. Dig deep in your pockets Evil Geek Nation and help Marisa get this documentary off the ground! After the interview with Marisa, stick around for the usual shenanigans from Arthur, C-Mart, and Kang, as well as special guest Undies of Wondy who you can check out on her page here, on Twitter @UndiesOfWondy, and on Facebook here.
UPDATED: The audio file now actually contains the interview! The Evil Geeks: Pobody’s Nerfect…
Welcome back to another Zombie Round Up, Evil Geeks! Last week Rick got busy at trying to not die, Michonne occupied herself by realizing that she probably isn’t going to last long all on her own, and Carl passed the time by testing the human limit of patience with bitchy, emo, teens. Out of the core group of survivors, we know that these three made it out of the prison alive and managed to get themselves to safety. Could the other survivors possibly have fared as well?
When I end up at the movie theater I get just as excited about the trailers as I do the main feature, and I get particularly stoked when a science fiction film reveals itself during the trailer portion of my experience. However, when I first saw the trailer for the 2013 sci-fi film Oblivion I was a little leery of it, mainly cause Tom Cruise played the main character, and let’s face it, he leaves us all with a lot to be leery of.
I did however hear some good reviews about flick on my favorite daytime listening program, NPR. And most of the time I can trust NPR for an honest review, so I eventually did invest in the blu-ray of this film and finally got around to watching it last night. Be forewarned, spoilers to follow.
