Justice League: War trailer is Released…sans Aquaman!

Hey Fellow Nerds!

JLwarLOGO
The folks at IGN have given us a treat a few days before Halloween in the form of the Justice League: War trailer that you can check out below. War is the first movie since The Flashpoint Paradox and as Greekimus and I discussed in our podcast, this movie is set in the current New 52 Universe.

Justice League: War is being directed by Jay Oliva and produced by James Tucker and uses the voice talents of Jason O’Mara, Christopher Gorham, Alan Tudyk, Michelle Monaghan, Shemar Moore and Sean Astin.

As you can see from the trailer, War retells the Geoff Johns and Jim Lee origin story of the Justice League where the team comes together to fight the evil Darkseid. With that said, one of the original Leaguers have been replaced! That’s right, the king of the seas himself, Aquaman, doesn’t appear to be in this flick at all and has been replaced by Shazam. I’m not really sure why they would leave Aquaman out to be honest, since he’s been given a real push in the New 52, Injustice, and had an amazingly badass role in The Flashpoint Paradox.

Popular Aquaman website The Aquaman Shrine first got word of this in late August and began questioning the films creators via twitter. A somewhat War ensued on its own, but then they went right to the source with DC’s Chief Creative Office; Geoff Johns who said that Arthur Curry would get his own movie. Not gonna lie, I’m happy about that quite a bit but still feel a little let down that Aquaman will not be in this next movie. Either way though, I’ll definitely buy it and me and Greekimus will chat it up on The Animated Show.
