River City Ransom

Last night, I reached a milestone in my life. After about 20 or so odd years I finally beat the Nintendo game, River City Ransom. It was one of those games I never actually owned growing up, but I had a friend who had it so I would get to play it occasionally. I always loved the mechanics of it, but was never able to get far enough in the game to beat it. With the recent explosion of vintage video game stores every time I went to one I’d see River City Ransom calling to me. The problem is it generally commands a higher end cost which is always a gamble for retro games because there’s a real chance that they could be awful or unplayable. One I day I could resist no longer, I plopped my money down and went home with a grey cartridge in my arms. My dusty old NES was aching for insertion.

Horror of Horrors: A Very Harkness Halloween

harkness halloween

Happy Halloween you heathens!! Welcome back my beauties to another edition of Horrors! Between stalking the night as Batman in Arkham Origins and slaving away for the man 8-5, it’s been a very busy week for the Harkness household. An impending baptism of my niece has been taking up a lot of time as I have been going through cleansing rituals in order to be able to step inside the church for more than an hour without bursting into flames. It has made it slightly difficult to get some stuff done for you guys, but like a true believer, I have been slaving away in the wee hours of the morning and trying to come up with something fun for this Halloween spectacular, and by spectacular I mean pretty much the normal amount of words, but with more fanfare. So let’s blister this asshole.

X-Men: Days of Future Past Trailer is Here!!!

Whats up Merry Mutants!

20th Century Fox released the first full trailer of X-Men: Days of Future Past and thanks to Youtube user X-Men Movies you can see it below! Days of Future Past is the official sequel to 2011’s X-Men First Class and also bears the same name of one of the most classic X-Men stories to date. I’ve kept my ears closed about this feature, despite the amount of leaks that director and X-Men fanboy Bryan Singer has leaked online. All I know is that it includes time travel, Sentinels, and about everyone who has even been an X-Man; including past, present, and future incarnations of themselves! But check out the trailer yourselves right NOW!

Days of Future Past is schedule for theaters on May 23, 2014, with a star studded cast from the recent First Class movie and the original trilogy that includes but isn’t limited to Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Halley Berry, Nicholas Hoult, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, and Peter Dinklage.
I don’t know about you, but May 23rd can’t come soon enough!

See ya Nerds!
