  1. Ocarina of Time is the greatest Zelda game in my opinion. Mark has a point about honoring the originals, but I think Ocarina perfected the mechanics of the series.

  2. I hear ya Mark. Although this was my #1 game, we were not entirely in agreement about this one. Personally, I love the Zelda franchise so much, but as we mentioned in our podcast, Nintendo took the formula to the original Legend of Zelda and added some great pieces to it to give us Link to the Past. Again, totally an opinion here, but I really like how the game gave more history to Hyrule, allowed you to go to the village, and gave you a world that was vast but manageable. If you haven’t listened to it yet, check out our podcast on the top 10 and you’ll hear what we all have to say about it (with some of us in disagreement!)

Thanks for the comment and hope to hear form you again soon!

  3. While I will be both praised and mocked by many for this post I have to (with all due respect) disagree with the Super Nintendo zersion of Zelda being Top Dog.
While I am not one for RPG-style video games I can appreciate the game as a masterpiece. However, credit should be mainly given to the original version of the game before the Super Nintendo version is praised as number 1.
Just as your list suggests, Super Mario World is a phenominal game, but it cannot touch the original Nintendo games Mario 2 and 3 that paved its way.
Everything from the game play to the sound track to even the gold casing should justify Nintendo’s “The Legend of Zelda” being ranked higher than its Super Nintendo counterpart.
An interested follower and his humble opinion.
