Best Geeky Couples Of All Time
If you don’t have a Valentine of your own on this day of flowers and chocolate and cheesy Hallmark cards, fear not, the Evil Geeks have your back. To curb your soul-crushing loneliness, here’s a list of some of the best couples known to geekdom. Chin up, geeks. If Peter Parker can get the girl, so can you!
Speaking of Spidey, let’s start the list off with one of the most iconic movie kisses, between Peter and MJ. Not only do these two have the epic comic-book love that we all dream of, they redefined the romantic kiss in the rain. Now it’s just not the same if one of the two kissing parties isn’t upside down.
Some of the best relationships start in unconventional ways, like the hate-turned-love between Han Solo and Princess Leia. These two just prove that you can annoy the hell out of each other and still fall madly in love, and gave us what is possibly the best declaration of love in all of cinema.
Along the same vein as Leia and Han, Ron and Hermione turned an irritating friendship into a classic love story. These two are lucky enough to have two different versions of their first kiss–the movie deviated from the book and made the moment, in this geek’s humble opinion, even more romantic. Still, if anyone didn’t see this one coming, you must have been blind for seven books/eight movies.
Parks and Recreation may not have the geekiest of fandoms, but Leslie and Ben are the epitome of geeky couples. At his bachelor party this season, he and the guys played a rigorous game of Settlers of Catan, while Leslie’s bachelorette party featured a Presidentially-clad stripper called “Babe Lincoln.” These two are a match made in geek heaven.
You know, villains need love, too. The Joker and Harley Quinn may be more crazy than crazy for each other, but Harley’s energetic swooning over Mr. J and the Joker’s constant “get off me, woman,” attitude make them worthy of this list of lovebirds.
Harley and the Joker aren’t the only pair of villains to make the cut. The Monarch and Dr. Girlfriend are my favorite part of The Venture Brothers, and I can’t be the only one happy when she became Dr. Mrs. The Monarch. And let’s face it, the best super-couples are the ones with matching outfits.
A must-have for movie couples is on-screen chemistry, and Tony Stark and Pepper Potts have it in droves. From a work relationship chock full of sexual tension, to an adorably domestic duo, the banter between these two makes them infinitely interesting to watch.
Nothing says epic love quite like fighting to save a princess across multiple video games and platforms. Such is true for Link and Zelda, in all their various incarnations. You don’t travel through time for just any girl, you know.
Did we miss your favorite geek couple? Let us know in the comments! Hope you have a Geeky Valentine’s Day!
