Progressive Boink’s 40 Worst Rob Liefeld Drawings
Comic artist, Rob Liefeld is a lightning rod of controversy. Some people think he’s a good at what he does and some people think he’s the single worst artist in comic book history. Frankly, I understand why people think he’s terrible but his work never bothered me. I’m sure a lot of that has to do with him being one of the prominent artists in the early 90’s when I was young and just getting into comic books. As a kid, it was exactly what I wanted to see and I ended up developing a bit of a nostalgic soft spot for him.
If you don’t know he was one of Marvel’s rising stars, illustrating New Mutants and eventually X-Force when the title switched. At the height of his Marvel fame he left with other top artists Jim Lee, Todd McFarlane, Marc Silvestri, Erik Larsen, Jim Valentino and Whilce Potracio to form Image Comics. Liefeld’s flagship for them was a comic titled Youngblood. His signature art style was known for an insane misunderstanding of human anatomy, the inability to draw feet, the size of guns and his character’s uniforms including pouches…lots of them.
A few years back the website Progressive Boink did a hilarious article highlighting The 40 Worst Rob Liefeld Drawings and we’d like to showcase that today.
